2017 Conference

ASGSR 2017 Roommate matching

Hey students,

The ASGSR room block is just about entirely booked up, though you can still get rooms at the hotel outside of the block. If any of you are looking to save some money (and maybe make new friends) by sharing a hotel room, we now have an application. We won’t book the rooms for you, but if you already have one and are looking to share, or you’re looking for someone who has a room, fill out the form and we’ll match you up. We will send information about your roommates as soon as possible.

2017 T-shirt Design!

After many iterations of design, we are happy to announce the final (ish) design for the 2017 ASGSR T-shirt. The design will be printed on a forest green T-shirt, and the front features famous landmarks in Seattle under a starry sky, while the back represents all of the different types of research that ASGSR members do in space. This year’s T-shirt will be on sale at the 2017 Annual meeting in Seattle. You can also pre-order when registering for the conference!

Volunteering at the Massachusetts High School Science Fair

ASGSR student officers Samantha McBride and Rai Munoz hosted an ASGSR booth at the Massachusetts High School Science Fair, held on May 6th 2017 at MIT.  They were joined  by MIT Aero/Astro students from the STAR (Space Telecommunications, Astronomy, and Radiation) lab. Exhibits included virtual reality space apps designed by Rai, a selection of literature regarding space research, and model cube satellites from the STAR labs. While the science fair competitors were in high school, students of all ages stopped by to learn more about space research. A huge thanks to everyone who helped us out or stopped by the booth, you all made the event fantastic!
